Weekend UPdates
Hello!!
I am so very sorry for not updating. Life's been pretty pretty tiring so far.
During the weekend, Saturday, KDU Culinary Arts and Hospitality Students had a field trip to Prince Hotel. It's situated right in the middle of the citty, surrounded by lots of tall buildings and also other posh 5 star hotels.
The field trip was definitely fun and also very eye opening. We were introduced and briefed regarding the working hours and the lifestyles of hotelier and those working under the hotel line. I can say, it is not easy and...it does not suit family oriented people.
The tour around the hotel kitchen was a must for all Culinary students because there is where we will be in the future. We met with most of the chefs. Asked lots of question and....there was this dim sum master chef whom earns 18k a month. believe it?????? Muhahahaha. Thus, do not look down on CHEFS!
Lunch was served in the hotel itself. We had buffet lunch. Most of it was finger foods but the dessert was delicious. Being a dessert person, i took the dessert first before my main meal. But sad to say, the hotel outsource their pastry section as they do not have any kitchen that is specifically for pastry.
